About Los Angeles Pierce College
Pierce College is a flourishing two-year public institution in Southern California providing opportunities for transfer education, occupational training, and life-long learning. We are minutes away from Downtown Los Angeles and many entertainment attractions.
Founded in 1947, Pierce is a comprehensive college with more than 80 disciplines. The College offers 83 associate degrees in three categories of Associate of Arts, Associate of Science, and Associate Degree for Transfer, along with 54 state-approved certificates.
Los Angeles Pierce College is accredited by the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges, Western Association of Schools and Colleges, an institutional accrediting body recognized by the Commission on Recognition of Postsecondary Accreditation and the U.S. Department of Education.
Pierce College students transfer to the University of California system, the California State University system, and private universities to earn bachelor’s degrees. Pierce College has one of the highest transfer performances in Southern California.
Pierce combines academic excellence with a friendly and helpful faculty and staff. It has a solid reputation for being a student-friendly institution, offering students high-quality and challenging education that will prepare them for university or vocational work. Pierce students benefit from smaller class sizes and lower tuition than a four-year university.

Our International Student Services Office is fully staffed and provides the following: admissions advisement, academic and personal counseling, F-1 status advisement, new student orientations, and specialized workshops.
Pierce total student population is nearly 18,000 which includes 154 international students representing 45 different countries.
ESL programs and/or support services
Los Angeles Pierce College does not have an ESL program. New students are assessed for their English level upon entrance into the college and may start with an ESL level English course in conjunction with other academic courses.
Center for Academic Success is our tutoring center which provides one-to-one tutoring, small-group tutoring, and workshops in a variety of subjects.

Admission requirements for first year and transfer students
1. Proof of English language proficiency
2. Official transcripts from all high school/secondary schools and colleges
3. Financial Affidavit of Support
4. Official Bank Verification (minimum balance of $26,500 USD)
5. One passport sized photograph
6. A copy of your passport identification page
7. Students under the age of 18 years must submit a Guardian Statement
8. F-1 Visa Students transferring from within the U.S. must submit additional documents.
