These courses are offered on the same academic calendar as our college level courses. Students who successfully complete the English Language Studies Program are eligible to pursue college-level courses in the International Student Academic Program (ISAP). No TOEFL score is required for admission. New students must take an English assessment test upon arrival to determine appropriate course level placement. Tutoring is provided for all skills levels.

Student Housing options

SBCC does not provide on-campus housing. Housing options for international students include student apartments, student residences with meal plans (located in close proximity to UCSB), and homestays. The International Student Housing Coordinator assists international students with their housing needs by connecting students with apartment managers or student residences. Homestay International Santa Barbara is a professional homestay placement service, which assists students who are interested in living with a host family. Homestays provide new students with the opportunity to learn about American culture, while sharing aspects of their own culture with a host family.
