From a group of academic pioneers in 1868 to the Free Speech Movement in 1964, UC Berkeley is a place where the brightest minds from across the globe come together to explore, ask questions and improve the world.
UC Berkeley Extension is the continuing education branch of the University of California, Berkeley (UC Berkeley). We are located two blocks from the main campus. Our department offers short-term study-abroad programs for undergraduates, graduates, and professionals. We do not offer full degree programs; we offer study abroad and non-degree certificate programs. Students can transfer credits to their home university and will receive a final transcript from UC Berkeley Extension. Our short-term programs provide students with in-depth skills and learning experiences that will advance their academic and professional goals.
